KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Faisal Sabzwari who returned from a long absence from the country said he supported a resolution which condemned the party’s founder.
“I am not a Mohajir, I was born in Pakistan,” Sabzwari said on the floor of the Sindh Assembly.
“But why are statements by the MQM founder being criticized, while similar statements other leaders gave previously have been ignored,” he said, adding in the same breath that he was not supporting the MQM founder.
Sabzwari added that Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah had upheld the law when he took notice of Khawaja Izhar’s arrest.
Faisal Sabzwari added those who thought MQM Pakistan was made under fear were not correct. “If we were scared we would have sat quietly or not come to Pakistan. We took this decision because of our people and voters”.
“Mohajirs are not traitors, and we are not their traitors,” Sabzwari added.
