SANGHAR (Web Desk) – Fear and panic gripped the area after unknown suspects opened fire on a school in Sanghar district of Sindh province today (Saturday), media reported.
The shooting incident occurred near Government Boys Primary School close to Pir Pagara’s residence in Sanghar.
The school was evacuated as terrified parents rushed to save their children after the incident.
Meanwhile, school teachers refused to give any information on the suspected attackers. They urged the top authorities to deploy Rangers at all the schools across the district to ensure safety of the children.
Till now, no government representative has visited the site.
Reason behind the firing incident could not be ascertained yet.
The incident underscores feelings of insecurity two months after heavily armed gunmen stormed Bacha Khan University campus in northwestern Charsadda town, killing 21 people in an attack that had chilling echoes of a 2014 assault on Army Public School (APS) in nearby Peshawar.
After the attacks, authorities have tightened security of the schools across the country.
